Delta Agrees to Honor our Labor Protective Provisions
Just got a copy of the letter Delta sent NWA in which they agree to honor the LPP language in the NWA FA Agreement "upon the closing of the proposed acquisition of Northwest Airlines Corporation by Delta."
Thankfully, Delta has started off on the right foot in this area. By honoring this agreement, they are honoring the NWA flight attendants. Certainly more than we can say for how NWA has treated flight attendant agreement issues in the past.
I wonder why AFA wouldn't share this information with us? Seems to me that this is really good news and that sharing it with the members would provide some reassurance that the NWA contract will be honored. This would certainly help calm the membership. Who knows, AFA may want the members to be fearful because they can then control them better. If that is true, it is certainly a sad motivation.
At any rate, this act by Delta is a positive step in creating new employee relations with our future employer.
